A high-speed chase led to the arrest of a man with a laundry list of misdemeanors last week. On March 24, Jacob Serna decided to unfortunately escalate a routine traffic stop into a police pursuit when a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull him over in the 2000 block of the N Sam Houston Pkwy W.
Serna, who was unwilling to initially comply with law enforcement, eventually saw his attempted getaway come to a sudden halt when deputies managed to successfully stop his vehicle. An identification check revealed that Serna was not just any motorist, but one with eight open misdemeanor warrants to his name. To resist a straightforward traffic scenario so vehemently, only to unveil a deeper quagmire of legal woes, presents an irony that writes itself.
The incident, which adds a felony charge to Serna's rap sheet, was disclosed in detail on the official Facebook page of Precinct 4. "Jacob Serna was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the warrants and charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 232nd District Court," as per Constable Mark Herman, providing the public with a succinct wrap-up of the day's events.
